When moving from a place to another, people do not only take their belongings, but they also transport their values, beliefs and cultural practices with them. This also includes medical and healing practices. There are two popular opinions about the relation between migration and medicine. Firstly, some anthropologists [1,2], suggest that migrants often assimilate within the social culture of their host country and tend to forget, reject or surpass their own traditional medical practices. As indicated by Figure 1, in the Annex, the number of deaths is spiraling – virtually out of control. The US is affected. Africa and Latin American countries are lagging behind. In this note, three critical issues, related to the on-going crisis, are discussed. In the first section, the seemingly lack of crisis management with adequate forecasting tools is discussed.
